The
latest edition of the MCH
Research Exchange Newsletter presents summaries of
the 17 maternal and child health research projects HRSA funded
in FY 2000 for more than $4.6 million.
The funded projects will investigate
such issues as:
-
the psychological problems found
in uninfected children of HIV-positive mothers;
-
intervention to reduce smoking in
families that receive Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
aid; and
-
anemia screening for inner-city children.
MCHB's investment in research increases
to $14.3 million after the approved multiyear requests of
the 17 projects are considered.
